Charlotte Hattersley, 41, a GP in Cumbria, lives on the Cartmel Peninsula

Charlotte moved to Cumbria in 2012 after realising the region was where she wanted to be. Four years later, Charlotte is enjoying a fun and varied career in the county and is keen to spread the word about the opportunities available in Cumbria.

Like many medics in Cumbria, Charlotte is an outdoor enthusiast who makes the most of having The Lakes on her doorstep.

“This summer’s challenges are road cycling and mountains,” she said. “I’m trying to get through my Wainwrights, and so far this year I’ve done 49.

“I also enjoy Parkrun and occasionally do a bit of canoeing.

“There is a whole community of GPs in The Lakes who do similar things - but even if you’re not always heading up a mountain, there’s lots to do.

“I love Cumbria and I often wonder why it took me so long to move here.”
