Bob McClean, Apprentice Training Co-ordinator at Kimberly-Clark, lives in Barrow

After retiring from Kimberly-Clark after almost 40 years, Bob looks back at his proudest achievements.

As well as working together, Bob and Sue share a passion for rallying – a hobby that has taken them all over the UK and Europe.

“Our passion is rallying and we do it with historic cars all over Europe and the UK,” he said. “The car we use – a Rover P4-100 – has always been owned by people who worked at Kimberly-Clark in Barrow.

“In June 2000, I’d almost finished rebuilding the car and Sue had found a classic rally called LE JOG, from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

“We got the car going, finished the event and have taken part every year since with the same car and crew. I think we hold something of a record as we’ve finished every one.

“Our other car is a 1962 Ford Anglia – the same as the flying car used in Harry Potter.

“My hobby is rebuilding cars and Sue is a whizz at plotting our routes when rallying. We’re a great team.”
