Want a Dream Placement with a top Cumbrian employer? Applications for 16-18 year olds to open

Published on: Tuesday 28th August 2018

Young people across Cumbria have the chance to gain a life-changing experience in the county’s top businesses and organisations.

Entries for Dream Placement 2019 open on Monday, September 3.

Run by the Centre for Leadership Performance (CfLP), the scheme is now in its sixth year and is open to 16-18 year olds.

The placements, for young people to find out more about leadership and career opportunities, take place over the February 2019 half-term week.

Teenagers will be hosted by businesses that are eager to retain talented youngsters.

Up to 200 students are expected to take part, with almost 30 companies set to offer placements ranging from major employers to small and medium-size specialist companies, local authorities, and health trusts.

Students learn how to promote themselves, how to recognise and highlight their key qualities, how to deal with applications and interviews, and how to network effectively.
