From November 25 to Friday November 27 1,100 graduates will collect their degrees, but will also honour special guests for their outstanding contributions to the university or support for causes linked to it.
As one half of The Hairy Bikers duo, Mr Myers has been on our screens since 2005, attracting audiences of up to five million, and co-authoring 15 books.
Mr Myers, from Barrow, will be recognised for his ‘lifelong and outstanding contribution to the media industry and for his innovation and excellence in the culinary arts’.
Mr Myers said: "I am both thrilled and delighted to be awarded this honour from the University of Cumbria. Cumbria is my home and somewhere I chose to return to after many years working away.
“For me to receive this honour on my own doorstep is really special. It’s great to be with the talented young graduates as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
“University is the best way to prepare for this and graduation is a really proud special moment for many of the students and their families. It is a day I am both proud and privileged to share."
