An Ulverston firm has kitted out Furness General Hospital's new £12m South Lakes Birth Centre with the latest equipment.
Bender UK has supplied power systems and surgical equipment to the new maternity unit, which includes two operating theatres, birthing rooms, a special care baby unit, maternity assessment, and a bereavement suite.
Bender medical IT power systems and uninterruptible power supplies provide fail-safe protection and resilience for critical areas within the maternity facility.
Both operating theatres are equipped with Bender hygienic touchscreen theatre control panels, clinical pendants which supply medical gases and other services, and award-winning LED surgical lights.
Installation at the South Lakes Birth Centre was carried out by Morecambe-based Bowker Ltd, specialist mechanical and electrical contractors on the project.
Gareth Brunton, Bender UK managing director, said: “We are delighted to be involved in creating a new facility which will benefit the whole community including the families of our own local workforce.”
