The Ulverston-based Bread and Butter Theatre Company will be bringing their very special brand of chaotic Christmas fun to the streets with Carol Singing Christmas Crackers and the Christmas Elves, with other entertainment in Market Square.
Visitors can step into a giant snow globe on New Market Street for the perfect festive photo opportunity, or share their Christmas wishes with Santa in his grotto. He’ll be in the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Brogden Street on Saturday and in the Market Hall on Sunday.
Festival organiser Marie Whitehead, Director of CN Events, said: “We are so excited to finally hold the first Taste Cumbria Christmas festival. This is something our visitors and traders have been asking us to organise for so long now.
“We’re really hoping it will be an amazing weekend. The Christmas market promises to be foodie heaven, with producers of some of the very best food and drink around. You’ll be able to come to the town and pick up the meat you need for the festive season, get amazing pies, puddings and cakes, get yourself a few boozy treats which are brewed right here in Cumbria and buy some pretty things for your table too.”
The Taste Cumbria Christmas festival builds on the success of the main Taste Cumbria events and pop-up food villages, which are organised in association with Cumbria Life magazine.
