Two Cumbrian hotels have been ranked alongside The Dorchester and The Savoy as the UK’s best places to work in hospitality.
Langdale Leisure near Ambleside and the Trout Hotel in Cockermouth have both been listed in the Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality according to The Caterer.
The two hotels are some of the only independent destinations in the North of England as this year’s lineup is dominated by London based establishments.
Langdale Leisure HR manager, Kelly Hodkinson, said: “We are delighted to be in the Top 20 of the Caterer Best Places to Work.
“To run a great hotel you need to have great staff and we are very lucky to have a fantastic team here at Langdale. We are delighted that they think Langdale is a great place to work as we couldn’t do what we do without them.”
Sue Eccles, managing director at the Trout Hotel, said: “We are so proud to have gained a place in the top 30 best places to work and to be ranked alongside hotels of the caliber of The Dorchester and The Savoy in the rankings is a huge achievement.
“Our staff made this happen, by taking the time to return surveys on our HR practices, organizational culture and management style and we are just pleased that they find the Trout such a positive place to work.”
The prestigious national awards recognise employers who excel in all aspects of people management and the Trout Hotel came in 14th place, while Langdale Leisure came in at 19th ahead of some of the most famous hotels in the country.
The results of the national campaign were published in The Caterer this week and officially announced on Monday at The Caterer’s People Forum in London
