Students from schools across South Cumbria are being given the chance to taste life at Barrow Sixth Form College – a partner of Choose South Cumbria – this Saturday, March 12.
Year 11 students are being invited to take part in the ‘Spring into Sixth Form’ event with activities including art, teambuilding, a ‘question quest’, live music and ‘Bubble Football’.
David Batten, Principal at the college, said the event was returning on the back of its popularity in 2015.
He added: “This event means our future students can get a head start on settling in, experience college life and meet students from different schools who will be starting in September. We offer high quality teaching, but we also pride ourselves on the sixth form experience – which includes a social side.”
Students will also have the chance to see the recent £1.5m transformation made inside the college and make use of facilities such as study areas, a purpose-built library and a new coffee bar.
The event runs from 10am to 2pm, with registration from 9.30am. Free transport is provided to the site on Rating Lane from Millom and Broughton-in-Furness. Students can sign up at www.barrow6fc.ac.uk
