A campaign to bring talent to South Cumbria is on the verge of going national.
The Choose South Cumbria website was launched last month and is designed to inspire people to live, work and learn in the area.
The website is being supported by some of the biggest employers in the area, including GSK and Siemens - based in Ulverston - and Kimberly-Clark and BAE - which have bases in Barrow.
CN Media, which owns a variety of magazines, newspapers and websites in Cumbria, is overseeing the site, which showcases the attractions and opportunities in the area.
It features local news, regular updates on jobs and careers, information about local employers and information about the attractions and locations in South Cumbria.
A nationwide advertising and press campaign will be launched later this week to promote the website across the country.
The campaign comes ahead of the website's first virtual careers fair, which takes place on May 11 and will give people the chance to interact with employers online and learn about what is on offer in the area.
One of those who has spoken out in support of Choose South Cumbria is Kevin Roberts, executive chairman of global communications and advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi.
He explains why in the video below.
The video below includes footage provided by the main partners behind the initiative, including GSK, BAE Systems, Furness College, Siemens, the NHS in South Cumbria and Kimberly-Clark, as well as footage provided by, among others, Furness Engineering and Technology Limited.
