Athena PTS has been placed at No 7 in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list of the UK's fastest growing private firms.

They are the only company in Cumbria to make the list, and one of only eight companies in the north-west, with annual sales growth over three years of 126 per cent.

Athena PTS, a partner of Choose South Cumbria, is one of the region’s big success stories, delivering a wide portfolio of projects across the UK from their base in Barrow-in-Furness.

An independent privately-owned company established in 2011, they provide electrical design consultancy, project support services and specialist installation works in the renewable energy, marine electrical, nuclear, utilities and building services industries.

Neil Smith, Commercial Director at Athena PTS, said: “We’re over the moon to have made The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list, let alone the top 10. It’s a real testament to the hard work and dedication of all the good people, past and present, who have been involved in making Athena PTS a success story, during what has been a challenging time for all. It’s certainly something we should all be proud of.

“We’re very proud of our South Cumbrian roots and that we continue to deliver major national contracts from our base in Barrow-in-Furness.”

Luke Dicicco, Project Manager for Choose South Cumbria, said: "Congratulations to Athena PTS on their fantastic achievement in making the top 10 of The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100. They are an excellent local business and proof of what can be achieved in South Cumbria."

The full league table will be published as an eight-page broadsheet supplement with the business section of The Sunday Times on 6 December 2015, both in print and in the digital edition, and on the Fast Track website.
