Raymond Blanc protégé takes reins at top Lakes hotel

Raymond Blanc protégé Nick Edgar has been appointed Head Chef of Michelin starred restaurant at The Samling. He joins after a 15-year spell at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Raymond Blanc’s famous two Michelin star hotel and restaurant in Oxfordshire.

Nick, who rose through the ranks to become Head Chef of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in 2013, said: "I can't wait to start the next chapter of my career at this wonderful hotel. Their aim to be on the highest level of gastronomic experiences and become a food destination for the whole of the UK would excite any young, ambitious chef.”

General Manager at The Samling, Alasdair Elwick described Nick as one of the best chefs in the UK, adding: “When you combine his appointment with the talent of the current team, exciting times lie ahead for the hotel.”

Chef Patron of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons Raymond Blanc OBE, also took the time to wish his departing Head Chef well. He said: “Bravo Nick! I wish him every success for his future development in the natural and abundant surroundings of the Lakes at The Samling.”
