Law firm recognised as one of best in UK
Cartmell Shepherd has been recognised as one of the best in the UK by the legal profession’s “bible”.
The Legal 500 is the industry’s definitive guide, and solicitors and nine specialist teams from the Choose Cumbria partner feature strongly in this year’s edition, which described it as a "gem of a practice”.
Cartmells’ agriculture team have kept their top tier status, and they are the only Cumbrian firm to be recognised for their work in contentious trusts and probate, with managing director Peter Stafford and associate Stephanie Johnson named for their work on recent disputes.
Peter Stafford said: “We are particularly proud that our agriculture team achieved top tier ranking and that eight other areas of law across the firm have also been recognised in the Legal 500.
“The recognition of our staff and teams not only demonstrates our commitment to our people but also to providing a quality service for our clients, who are at the heart of our business.”
Other Cartmells’ lawyers named in the guide include partner Julian Nelson (Family Law) and associate Nick Hodgson (Corporate and Commercial) and Carol Fish, for catastrophic injury expertise.
Caroline Smith and Stephanie Johnson were both mentioned in the Legal 500 for their first class and efficient service in the Commercial Litigation, Family Law and Contentious Trusts and Probate team, while Mark Jackson is recognised as a “next generation lawyer”.
Director, and relocator to Cumbria, Mark Aspin (Commercial Litigation) was also recognised.
The Legal 500 is published annually and assesses law firms based on their size and resources, as well as taking into account client recommendation in specific fields.
Cartmell Shepherd have offices in Carlisle, Brampton and Penrith.
