The Devonshire Buildings on Barrow Island are being given a new lease of life as fully serviced apartments almost one hundred and fifty years after being built.
Following a programme of recent extensive refurbishments, a number of apartments have now been smartly furnished to provide fully serviced accommodation which can be let on an ultra-flexible, week-by-week basis.
Their central location on Michaelson Road opposite BAE Systems has led to high demand, particularly with contractors.
Rachel Bagshaw, Group Property Manager for the Holker Estate, which owns the Devonshire Buildings, said: “We knew that there was a requirement for accommodation in and around Barrow, particularly in the short-term lettings market, so we decided to trial the letting of a small number of serviced apartments and see how they went.
“The interest was phenomenal so we have since released a further number of the fully serviced apartments.”
The Holker Estate is hosting an Open Evening at the Devonshire Buildings on Wednesday, June 14 for people to view the Paley and Austin designed, Grade II* listed buildings, which comprises over one hundred larger-than-average apartments.
The event will be held between 6pm and 8pm at the Devonshire Buildings Estate Office with information, refreshments and tours of the available apartments.
