University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) has been ranked at number 11 in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list, which was published today (Thursday, September 1).

Powered by The Excellence in Diversity Awards, the list honours organisations that promote diversity and inclusion at every level.

To be named on the list, employers had to provide evidence of inclusive recruitment procedures, training and other diversity related initiatives.

Karmini McCann, Workforce Business Partner/Inclusion and Diversity Lead for UHMBT, said: “This achievement reflects all the hard work we have been doing to make our Trust more inclusive, and it has made a huge difference already.

“It is about recognising, accepting and celebrating the differences in us all – we are all unique and special in our own way and we all have something to contribute.”

The Corporate Team for Inclusion at UHMBT has already been celebrated by NHS Employers, who named them Inclusive Team of the Year in May.

The Trust has also been chosen to be an NHS Employers’ Diversity and Inclusion Partner for 2016/17.

David Wilkinson, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development for UHMBT, said: “Our ambition is to keep attracting and retaining a truly diverse workforce, and these achievements show that we are on the right track.”

So proud that we've been named in the #InclusiveTop50! Huge thanks to our diverse workforce! https://t.co/See9fawkFX pic.twitter.com/yPNgpbt1eL
