Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has submitted its bid proposals for Growth Deal 3 funding from central government.

The ambitious submission to accelerate Cumbria’s economic growth could help create over 5,500 jobs and lever in millions of pounds of additional investment.

Graham Haywood, Director of Cumbria LEP, said: “We have worked closely with economic development partners across the county to finalise this ambitious bid.

“Our aim is to create thousands of new jobs and boost Cumbria's economy by £1.3bn by 2024.

“We have clearly set out what we need to help accelerate the county’s economic growth as we host some of the UK economy’s most significant assets which will provide vital resources to help meet the nation’s future needs.

“The county has a unique and compelling offer to businesses and investors in the global economy too.” Click here for the full details of Cumbria LEP’s proposal.
