Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is holding an event in Carlisle on Sunday, December 4 to recruit more nurses across Cumbria.

Nurses returning to practice or those looking for a new role are being encouraged to look no further. Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust – a partner of Choose Cumbria – is holding an event with the support of a local League of Friends to recruit more nurses across Cumbria and make it as easy as possible to apply for jobs.

The recruitment event, held at The Halston in Carlisle on Sunday, December 4, will be used to promote a wide range of nursing vacancies across the Trust as well offering interviews for attendees on the day. There are approximately 800 registered nurses in Cumbria who are not currently practicing, and they are encouraged to come along and find out more about the opportunities available.

Liesje Turner, Head of HR Business Partnering, said: “We’re doing everything we can to make it easy to apply for jobs across the Trust. We’ll have colleagues available to answer any queries about our vacancies and conduct interviews. Following the interviews, we hope to be able to offer jobs on the day – meaning successful applicants can join us as soon as possible.”

Organisers hope the event will attract nurses from outside the county as well as reaching nurses in Cumbria who are returning to work or looking for a new role.

The event has been funded by Brampton League of Friends, who will provide transport on the day to a community hospital for those who want to see some of the opportunities first hand.

The event will be held at The Halston in Carlisle from 10.30-16.00. To find out more, contact vacanciesCPFT@cumbria.nhs.uk.
