Commemorative crisp packets made in Cumbria have helped mark Leicester City’s unlikely Premier League victory.

Limited edition 'Salt and Victory' packets of Walkers crisps featuring pictures of Leicester’s players, the Foxes' badge and the word ‘Winners’ in place of the Walkers logo were made by Workington-based Amcor Flexibles Cumbria

Around 250,000 free packets were handed out to jubilant fans at Leicester’s home match with Everton on Saturday, May 7, before the champions lifted their first Premier League trophy at the King Power Stadium.

Gary Baker of Amcor – which supplies packaging for Walkers Crisp brand owners Pepsico – said the company's 64 employees are thrilled to help underdogs Leicester City celebrate their victory.

He said: “It’s great to get a promotion like this as it’s funky and different.”

Earlier in the season, staff at Amcor produced ‘Vardy Salted’ packets for Walkers after striker Jamie Vardy scored in 11 consecutive games for Leicester City.
