Cumbrian electrical company celebrates contract with EDF

Representatives from Cumbria-based electrical design company Athena PTS recently attended a prestigious opening ceremony as guests of EDF.

Athena PTS – a partner of Choose Cumbria – was awarded the electrical works contract for Pearie Law Wind Farm near Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland, which was officially opened on Tuesday, January 17.

The six-turbine wind farm has a capacity to produce up to 19.2 MW of low carbon energy to supply 11,600 homes.

The works commenced on site at Pearie Law in September 2015 and the first electricity was produced in November last year.

Athena PTS Operations Director Mark Skeels attended the opening ceremony alongside Don ‎Mackay, Director of Operations at EDF Energy Renewables, before watching First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon opening the new centre for EDF Energy Renewables in Edinburgh.
