More than 100 charity walkers are to cross the sands of Morecambe Bay in June to raise money for Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity.

Walkers will make the eight miles crossing between Arnside and Kents Bank under the supervision of the Queen’s official guide Cedric Robinson MBE on Saturday, June 11.

Paula Richardson, Head of Charities and Fundraising at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust - a partner of Choose Cumbria - said: “The Cross Bay Walk is a great way to raise money for your local hospital while keeping fit.

“Last year around 150 people took part in the walk, raising over £2,000 for the Trust which went towards the purchase of a defibrillator for complex and coronary care.”

Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity raises funds for five hospital sites, including Furness General Hospital, Barrow and Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal. Donations received go towards improving the hospital experience for patients.

Places are limited for the walk, which will cost £10 for adults and £5 for children to enter. Places are limited so registration is required.
