Choose Cumbria along with representatives from NHS organisations across the county, is exhibiting at the Royal College of General Practioners (RCGP) Annual Conference and Exhibition on Thursday 12 and Friday 13, October, and then at the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Careers Fair in London, on Friday 20 and Saturday 21, October.
The initiative brings together the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust and Cumbria Health on Call, who will help promote a wide variety of roles to job seekers across the UK and overseas at the two high profile events.
The focus for the RCGP Annual Conference and Exhibition, which takes place at the ACC Liverpool, will be on encouraging GPs to pursue their careers in Cumbria. More than 1,600 primary care professionals are expected to attend the event, which aims to give information and updates, and allow sharing of skills and best practice.
Choose Cumbria, which attended the event in 2016, can be found at stand B16. A number of Cumbrian-based GPs will be on hand to talk directly to delegates to share their experiences of living and working in the County.
A week later and Choose Cumbria and NHS partners will showcase a wider variety of roles, covering everything from nurses to consultants and everything in between, at the BMJ Careers Fair, at the Business Design Centre London.
The BMJ Careers Fair is one of the biggest events of its kind in the UK and provides delegates of all grades and specialities the opportunity to meet employers, gain help and advice on applying for jobs or changing careers in the health sector, and attend a packed programme of seminars covering a wide range of career topics.
It is the third year Choose Cumbria has set up a stall in the huge exhibition area. This year it will be at stand 65.
Again, Choose Cumbria will be joined by Cumbrian based representatives and healthcare professionals who can provide detailed advice on careers and career pathways available.
