Holker Hall’s hottest event returns this weekend with its array of spicy market stalls, live music and entertainment, and infamous chilli eating contest.
Attending the event - which runs on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 - for the third year are local chilli specialists, The Chilli Pepper Company, from Cark, located less than a mile from Holker Hall itself.
Specialist chilli companies from all over the country will also be in attendance, as well as local specialist food suppliers, catering featuring cuisine from around the world, and a variety of quirky gifts.
The much anticipated chilli eating competition will take place at 4pm each day, hosted by famous chilli expert Darth Naga.
The Bread and Butter Theatre Company will be bringing good-time girl Freda the Dinner Lady, who will entertain with her culinary capers and Pete Moss the Gardener, and close-up magician John Dixon will also be paying a visit.
Taste of Cairo dancers give a flavour of the Middle East with exciting, glamorous and dynamic performances in the exotic art form of Belly Dance.
The festival – organised by the Holker Group, a partner of Choose Cumbria – runs at Holker Hall from 10.30am to 5pm both days, and tickets are available on the gate.
