Around 40 different businesses, voluntary organisations and universities will exhibit at Kendal College’s Careers Fair on Tuesday, March 7.
Timed to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week (March, 6 - 10), the Careers Fair aims to raise awareness of the range of career opportunities available in the local area.
Organisations from a range of different sectors, including Finance, Healthcare and Engineering, will be on hand to discuss the wide range of careers available and explore the different ways to access them, including apprenticeships and degree level study.
Choose Cumbria will exhibit at the event to educate and enthuse young people about the career opportunities, many with long-term prospects, on their doorstep in Cumbria.
Graham Wilkinson, Principal at Kendal College, a partner of Choose Cumbria, said: “Having so many top-quality employers and training providers under one roof provides the perfect chance for our students and the local community to find out more about the career options available to them.”
There are currently more than 30 different apprenticeship programmes available at Kendal College. These start at Level 2 and go up to degree level in a wide choice of subjects; from Construction, Engineering and Animal Care to Business Management and IT.
The Careers Fair takes place at Kendal College’s main campus on Milnthorpe Road from 2pm to 6pm on Tuesday, March 7.
