Bryan Lee O’Malley, creator of the Scott Pilgrim series, will make an exclusive appearance at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October.

His work inspired the 2010 cult classic film Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, starring Michael Cera and Chris Evans, while his graphic novel Seconds reached top spot in the New York Times bestsellers list in 2014.

Festival Director Julie Tait said: "We're thrilled Bryan is joining us this year. His appearance will excite audiences from the comic art world and beyond."

Bryan will join Deadpool comic writer Joe Kelly and 2000 AD's Mick McMahon at the festival, which celebrates comic art from all over the world, and will again be supported by Choose Cumbria.

The festival takes place in venues across Kendal from October 14 – 16 and features performances, exhibitions, workshops and live drawing from leading comic creators.
