A PROPERTY development firm has revised its plans to build new homes in the grounds of an historic landmark in south Cumbria.
Charles Church Lancashire, a subsidiary of Persimmon Homes, has applied to build 45 homes surrounding Ulverston’s Stone Cross Mansion and convert the Grade II listed building into 19 self-contained flats.
Mark Cook, managing director for Charles Church Lancashire, said: “The new scheme could deliver a sympathetic restoration and redevelopment of the mansion house into 19 apartments, redevelopment of the lodge house, along with 45 new homes within the grounds, located in clusters to retain natural features, existing trees and site boundaries where possible.”
A formal planning application has not yet been submitted to South Lakeland District Council.
