£200,000 investment to mark hotel’s 20th anniversary

Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, is planning to invest £200,000 in refurbishments and staff development to mark its 20th anniversary.

And this milestone isn’t the only reason the hotel has to celebrate. The independently-owned hotel, which has a four-star rating, has also been named Best Western's Associate Hotel of the Year at a recent awards ceremony.

Ben Mayou, general manager, said: "The Lake District is full of venues making it a very competitive market place.

"Castle Green is just outside the national park so over the years we’ve developed our packages to ensure we offer something different to those lakeside properties. It’s been a fantastic 20 years!

"We’ve seen so many changes over the past 20 years. None of this would have been possible without our fantastic team.

"They are the talented, passionate force that make Castle Green what it is and we are incredibly lucky to have them on board.

"This year we also have four team members who are celebrating 20 years of service with us too!”

The hotel says the investment will fund management programmes for staff, the full refurbishment of its pub Alexander’s, and its continued support of local charities.

Castle Green Hotel will also host a fundraiser in partnership with the Kendal Torchlight committee on June 7.
