Cumbria boasts a national reputation for food and drink, as home to a cluster of Michelin-Star and award-winning restaurants.
Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume in Cartmel was crowned the best restaurant in the UK from 2013 - 2017 by the Good Food Guide, holding two Michelin stars and a five AA Rosette rating.
The Forest Side in Grasmere and the Gilpin Hotel & Lake House near Windermere hold a Michelin star each, with several other restaurants named in the Michelin Guide 2017.
Cumbria is also home to a number of breweries, including Hawkshead Brewery, which brews CAMRA’s Champion Beer of the North West, Windermere Pale.
