Nature at its finest
The natural landscape of coastline and mountains, with the world-renowned Lake District only 15 miles away, makes the area a compelling place to live and enjoy the great outdoors.
The iconic Sir John Barrow Monument on the Hoad looks out over the town. Culturally, Ulverston is well-known for its range of friendly festivals, including the stunning Lantern Festival, where the streets are turned into a magical display of lights.
The impressive Coronation Hall, situated in the heart of the town, hosts a full range of live music and theatre events. The privately-owned Roxy cinema shows the latest films and there are also a range of bars, restaurants and hotels.
Shopping is centred on the cobbled streets of the market town. There is also a small retail park with a Booths supermarket and plans for another supermarket to be built in the town.
