Kendal lies on the edge of the Lake District National Park and less than 10 minutes drive from the M6 junction 36.
The town is served by mainline train station Oxenholme - the Lake District - with direct services to London Euston, Manchester (including Manchester Airport) and Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Kendal also has a train station in the centre of the town with services into the heart of the Lake District at Windermere.
Homes in the Kendal area are often much more affordable than other parts of the UK and there is a range of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets.
Kendal has excellent schools at secondary and primary level and a thriving further education college at Kendal College.
There size and nature of the town mean many people walk or cycle to work rather than drive and it is also possible to take the train or bus to work across South Cumbria and in Lancaster.
