The natural landscape of the Morecambe Bay coastline on one side and the Lake District mountains on the other make the area a compelling place to live and enjoy the great outdoors.
Beautiful coastal walks are on the doorstep, while it is only a 15 minute drive into the outdoor playground that is the Lake Distict National Park.
Cartmel is also home to some of the best restaurants in the UK, thanks to nationally acclaimed chef Simon Rogan. It is also home to Cartmel Racecourse, said to be one of the most picturesque racecourses in the UK. Holker Hall is nearby, hosting a range of events throughout the year, including the annual Holker Garden Festival at the end of May.
When it comes to shopping, Grange boasts an award-winning butchers and several quality independent shops. There is a regular Farmers Market at Cartmel which is also famous for the world-renowned Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding. For the larger supermarkets, Kendal or Ulverston are the nearest towns, with major retail sites in Barrow as well.
