The Ophthalmology department cares for patients of all ages attending a wide range of ophthalmic clinics. We have Doctor / Nurse led clinics on all sites. Within this post you will work in general Ophthalmology clinics and more specialised ophthalmic clinics, preoperative assessment and organise and run theatre lists on a day to day basis, this provides the opportunity to cover all different aspects of Ophthalmic Care.
You will undergo in house training specialising in Ophthalmic Nursing care and development, with the opportunity to undertake the Ophthalmic nursing course.
You will be expected to complete the ophthalmic competencies that are required to work in the department.
The department is committed to appraisal, and supports continuous education and professional development.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
