Holker Garden Festival returns this Friday (June, 3) for a three-day extravaganza of stunning exhibitions, gardening experts and family entertainment.
Now in its 24th year, the popular Festival – hosted by the Cavendish family – celebrates the best of horticulture, food and crafts.
Here’s what to look out for at the annual event:
Celebrity Guest Charlie Dimmock
Ground Force star Charlie Dimmock will no doubt draw crowds when she appears as a celebrity guest on Saturday, June 4.
Charlie will be offering her expert advice in the Holker Garden Theatre and sharing her top tips with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
She said: “I have heard there is a really eclectic mix of food stalls which I am looking forward to sampling and I just love arts and crafts so you'll probably find me perusing the crafts tents and arts village while I'm there.”
Innovative Show Gardens
Holker Garden Festival brings together the very best designers, nurseries, landscapers, businesses and gardening experts to display their innovative show gardens and unique outdoor spaces.
The Festival was recently named as one of the ‘Top 10 fantastic flower shows to rival Chelsea’ by Holiday Lettings from TripAdvisor and described as a “flower-lover’s dream”.
With over 200 exhibitors, there really is something for everyone.
Relax and soak up the atmosphere with afternoon tea at the Festival Restaurant.
While you’re at the Festival, take the opportunity to book a table at The Ilex Brasserie. Set in a former private dining room at Holker Hall, the new brasserie serves a variety of dishes created by Chef Paul Rowley to showcase local produce showcase local produce.
The Horsemen of the Knight Jousting Show
This daring jousting show will thrill visitors of all ages with sword fights, fire – and a very realistic unicorn!
Younger festival-goers will also enjoy the fun and interactive activities on offer at Holker’s Tipi Village.
The Bay’s Live Broadcast
On Friday, June 3, The Bay will be broadcasting live from Holker Garden Festival.
If you can’t make the event, tune in to 96.9FM (North Lancashire, Barrow and the Furness Peninsula) or 102.3 and 103.2 FM (South Lakes) to catch all the latest chart tunes and updates from the Festival.
